Ginny

Unfortunately, we’ve had a little bit of bad news for our lovely Gin this Christmas. She’s going to be spending it in kennels with us, and while we love her and she’ll be getting the best of care, we know she’d rather be snuggled up with her forever family at home. We’re completely heart broken for her but we know her perfect family is out there just waiting for her to come home.

Ginny is such a lovely girl, she’s only 18 months old and super keen to please, it’s not her fault she hasn’t had the training and exposure she needs. Poor Gin got limited socialisation when she was younger, and as such the world can be a pretty scary place. Growing up in a rural area there are all sorts of things she’s never experienced before - loud noises can be particularly jarring for her. But she loves people, and gets so excited to meet new dog friends (so excited that we think she might be best suited as an only dog to let her get her training in!).

Gin was adopted with hope into a lovely suburban household, but sadly it quickly became evident that she finds urban sounds and experiences overwhelming and anxiety-provoking. As much as they’d hoped Gin would become part of their family, sadly they had to make the toughest of decisions to hand this little sweetheart back.

Learning from this, we have narrowed down what we’re looking for in her home somewhat. We already knew she needed to be an only dog with no other pets or children in an experienced & quiet home, but now we’re looking for a home in the countryside. She’s only lived very remotely before, and we think that the addition of so many new cars and noises all at once is just too much for her.

We know Gin is going to make an absolutely incredible dog for somebody, she’s so full of love (and beans!) and just needs someone to take the time to let her settle and start training her. As a terrier she is quite high drive, and we think she’d love some additional training (e.g. scent training or agility) to help funnel all of her energy into! She just wants to be out and about have fun.

Gin is such a sweetie! She has such a lovely personality, as with many terriers she is on the go absolutely all the time! She’s full of beans and definitely needs an active home, with a family who have lots of time to spend with her (and to teach her how to settle occasionally!).
